Kanazawa Geigi(Geisha) Show Experience
Kanazawa is one of a few cities where Geisha culture has been preserved. Geishas in Kanazawa are called Kanazawa Geigi. About 50 Geigis inherit the Japanese traditional hospitality culture in three teahouse (geisha house) districts in the city: Higashi, Nishi and Kazue-machi.
Geishas in Kanazawa value their customs and ceremonies, handed down from generation to generation since the feudal era. Refined dance performances and the playing of various musical instruments have also been handed down.
Normally a teahouse does not allow ""Ichigen-san"", meaning a first-time customer without any referral. However, more casual events are also held, allowing anyone to enjoy Geisha singing and dancing.
