Boasts the Abundant Quantity of High Temperature Hot Spring
Yumura is a quaint little hot spring town in the northwestern region of Hyogo Prefecture, surrounded by lush mountains and wilderness, and famous for its high-temperature spring waters. In fact the spring water is so hot that a local specialty are eggs cooked directly at the hot spring source, an activity guests are invited to try for themselves. There are several free-to-use foot baths located along the river, and most of the resorts allow day use of their facilities for a fee.
Yumura Onsen gushes with geothermal water at 98°C. Hot springs of such extremely high temperatures are rare even in Japan. This high temperature of hot spring is also great for cooking. Visitors can boil your very own eggs (onsen tamago), corn and sweet potatoes at “Arayu”. The steam that rises from the banks of the Haruki river, which runs throughout the center of town, creates an atmosphere of Yumura Hot Springs town. There are YUMURA logo monument and many hearts hidden in the townscape, and lighted up fantastic townscape at night time are perfect photo shooting spots.
